DMX 512 fixtures

I have several DMX to LED strip controllers that allow for 5-12 volt input voltage and DMX. With your data pair in the LumenCache interface, could DMX be supplied directly on the LumenCache cable? The DMX spec calls for a shield/common so three lines would be needed to meet that, however my understanding is that it is not strictly necessary to operate (or could be tied to the accessory negative possibly?). If it is possible to both power and control from the one cable, how would the DMX get into the cable? Is the PDM capable of translating and sending a DMX signal down the data pair or would there need to be an injector after the PDM? With the Gen 2 system, would there be a card possibly implemented that is capable of doing this? Not only would this be useful for accent lighting in homes but could be very beneficial to architectural lighting in commercial environs. Thank you

There's a DMX Puck (looks like a SwitchPuck L-WP) in the works. Also a MODBUS version. This will send DMX or MODBUS down the Cat5 where you can connect to various DMX devices. Many have RJ45 already but there is not a single standard for the wiring so you may have to look at the pins the device is using and manually make the cable end to match.
