Re: Using MQTT-Node-Red to communicate with LumenCache

Ken, this is awesome! Seems the UI just needs a little tweaking to get the button management settings and scenes manageable. Note: we're selling a version of the EGW1 as a DIY model without any locked software. It may include the basic communication bus management and API so the heavy protocol activ...

Reducing EM and RF radiation and LED PWM

A few people have installed LC to reduce RF noise from AC wires and dimmers. Or just the buzzing noise. Also the how the stroboscopic effect affects our eyes and brains causing eyestrain and fatigue. There's a new driver called the L2-CCUA100 that is Analog dimmed !  Zero flicker!   Great for photog...

Re: Energy Use Monitoring

Tim, the accessories list is endless. LumenCache is a smarter foundation (why we also have www.foundation.energy) for all the smart products that need standby power in addition to main device power. Making this part of the building allows economies of scale and maintenance that are also solved by th...

Re: Whole house LumenCache install - Eastern Colorado

With the new L2-CC drivers, the silver 48-24V DC/DC are not needed. The L2-CCB were slightly more efficient but the Boost topology of the CCB is not as flexible as the boost/buck of the new CC drivers. The CCU are buck drivers with 95% efficiency. Ideal for 48V solar battery supply. The new socket b...

Re: Extending from the L2-PDM via 25 pair cables

I did the math on the temperature increase in the cable and it's ok with 300mA CC loads but not good for above that. For that reason I would like to say it's not recommended to use 25pair cable at this time. The beauty of LC is we can have new transmission tech in future modules, but we should wire ...

Re: Brian North Introduction

The Iota chargers did the same. They needed a crowbar circuit and could get stuck on current overload for a split second, then shut down, then trip, etc, thousands of times per second. Resulting in 1-2V and crushing current :-D. The Meanwell HEP-600 and 1000 are awesome. No fans too! Advanced motion...

Re: Whole House LumenCache Lighting System - SouthWest Ohio

Great photos. I like how just the small PV array gives you plenty of power for lights and mobile phone charging. Plus the total cost must be far less than an AC Grid connected array and all the permit fees etc. I've heard PV soft costs are 20-30% of a typical project

Great introduction Brian! I heard about your project from Clint and looking forward to seeing photos during and after. MTBF of the power supplies we spec are more than a human lifetime, and I think the Weidmuller are similar. But the batteries lasting 3 days and getting you through the inspection is...

Mexico Bus Stop (beautiful!)

This is one of the smallest, and possibly my favorite project by Animi.mx in Mexico. It's a perfect example of the upgrade path of LumenCache and the efficient, long-lasting parts. Perfect example for Tiny Home Lighting. The bus stop provides lighting after dark using a motion detector with ambient ...

Re: Troubleshooting switches

We've been testing them for nearly 6 months and they're great quality. Very happy with this factory and our team. There were a lot of reported problems from 12vmonster quality and failing when dimmed so we made our own. They are very bright too, but they can dim! And they sip energy when dimmed. 202...

I just got the test setup today and posted the bulb specs after taking measurements. Converter worked as expected so let's see what's up with yours. I'll have a set of tests to check what's happening with yours by next next 1-2 days. See the bulb spec post from today.

Re: Troubleshooting switches

I'll reproduce that configuration in the lab this afternoon and take measurements to report what it should read at all test points. If it was working previously I'll get a replacement part on its way while we take the readings here. Can you direct message me your mailing address and contact info?

Re: Troubleshooting switches

Oh my. Sounds like there was a bug in Mode 1 if they stayed On after a quick tap. I'll test that condition in the new firmware and see if I can reproduce the error. It should not operate that way in mode 1. In many modes, we detect the change in button state from On to Off or Off to On, and only act...

Re: Troubleshooting switches

Hello Ken! The Mode 1 is for a toggle switch, not momentary button. Change the mode to 6 and you can toggle on/off with every tap. There's a detailed description of the modes in the Spec Sheets found in the forum News and Product Releases section. Look for the L2-DM second page of the spec. http://s...

Re: L2-TP1111 4-button decora Touchpads

The following files can be used to cut out temporary graphics for the L3-TP-1111-D touch keypads. Print and cut out the template you want to use. Remove the 4 screws in the corners under the TP. Insert the template and reassemble the TP. Replace the 4 screws being careful to not strip the plastic pa...
