E27, E12, G9, MR16, G4 and other standard base bulb fixtures

There are many standards for AC electricity and even more bulb styles 220VAC, 110VAC, are the most popular with 24VAC and 12VAC used occasionally with old style magnetic transformers. The light bulb bases are even more diverse with the standard Edison screw-in E27 style and E12 (candelabra) being th...

New L2-CC drivers make almost any remote driver light compatible

Looking down the isles of Home Depot and Lowes I noticed the significant increase in Tunable White fixtures. This is great for the industry because LEDs come in so many color and light quality options that incandescent bulbs never had. So of course we received a lot of questions about "Will this lig...

Re: Motion Sensor Wiring

On the Cat5 that has the L2-SW or L2-DM or L2-WP module (the input/control module) in the PDM, connect the motion sensor to a SIB accessory harness. They have 4 wires coming out: Black (G) Connect to Occupancy sensor GND or Vin- Red (12V+) Connect to Occupancy sensor 12Vin+ Green (C) don't need to c...

Re: Motion sensor light triggering inconsistent, also dims when switched off

This appears to be two separate issues combined. The dimly lit LED when lights are commanded OFF is likely because the one LED in series is dead and the CCB (Boost) driver does not see enough voltage across the remaining LED series array. Boost drivers must see LED Vf at least 3v higher than the PDM...

Derek Cowburn introduction

Hello! I'll start by introducing myself. I'm the founder of LumenCache. I've coded since I was 14 when I sold my first software package for the Apple II. Since then my Android phone crashed when chatting with Tim Cook at an event in Shenzhen where I spend most of my time. My first autonomous robot t...

Re: Dimmable DC LED filament bulbs

The last post on this was a few years ago. In technology time, this product is near end of life :-D Actually, we have lots of filament style bulbs getting ready for production. E12 C25, E26 A19/A60 to start with. We're making 20-60V range. You'll need a NEW L2-SV to drive these as the inrush from th...

USB Outlet Wiring

USB and USB-C (USB-PD) appears to be on a trajectory to become the de facto standard for powering modern devices. LumenCache is sometimes described as "Built-in USB for Homes and Offices". A plug-in AC powered USB adapter is limited to only providing power, but USB is a well-defined communication bu...

Re: Motion sensor light triggering inconsistent, also dims when switched off

Inconsistent motion triggering issue: check your WP mode is 3,4,5, or 6. Will not work with mode 1,2 because they use on/off switch. When the switch is ON it reads a dead short on control signal pair so the motion sensor 7500ohm resistor is not able to be read.

Re: Motion sensor light triggering inconsistent, also dims when switched off

If a light remains on dimly lit when the driver is switched off, it is usually because the total LED voltage, both lights in series in this case, is too low for the boost driver. Boost drivers need the LED voltage to be a few volts above the PDM input voltage. For example, if the battery and charger...

No addressable fixtures (yet). There is a 4 light, 1 cat5 module in the design stage.

I would wire for the 16W. That product is available today and certified.

Re: Controlling HID lights with Lumencache

For control, yes. The nLights product is similar where it uses the Cat5 as a control bus. LumenCache simply lets you change the technology used so one section of your plant may have 0-10V controlled ballasts while a new section may have DALI controlled, and some other section may have a new technolo...

Re: LiFi?

LiFi is being added to new cellphones. The benefit is high speed download via data modulated over light. The gen2 system wil allow any light to be a LiFi broadcast simply by changing the driver module in the closet. We are planning gigabit minimum speeds.
